You don’t know how it feels to be me – Tom Petty

Classism, elitism, rasicm, sexism: it all boils down to someone believing they have more rights and freedoms than another person and then using a qualifier to justify it.

The problem is that this isn’t necessary to be happy in life. In fact, I dare say these inequalities make life worse for everyone. Even the people enforcing and benefitting from it.

Because your soul knows. God knows. People can be fooled to a great degree but you can only fool yourself for so long and you can’t fool God or the Devil one bit.

“Whatsoever you do to the least of your brothers and sisters you do to me.” – God (Jesus)

This is absolutely true. We also do it to ourselves; whether we choose to believe that or not.

Why is hate so insidious and vile? Not just because it eats away at one’s own happiness, corrupts one’s mind and squelched one’s soul but because then we project that onto the world and the hatred becomes one and everything and everyone one touch gets infected as well.

And although it may seem the reasoning is outside of oneself the impact is very much within.

And that’s why I don’t get how from a logical point of view people can be such assholes. I don’t get how people can justify such wretched behavior towards each other. Because it always comes back to bite one in the ass.

Maybe if one doesn’t have instant karma and has pretty thick skin one doesn’t feel or see it immediately, but I guarantee you no one escapes paying the price of our own perpetuated injustices.

I get so frustrated with the world and people being so narrow sighted and selfish. When not only is it not necessary or productive, it is completely counter to finding peace and happiness within.

I know people are capable of so much more and of such goodness and compassion. I know this.

I am so proud of the Wall of Moms. I am so thankful that North Carolina has approved restitutions. I am so pleasantly shocked that corporations and businesses have started looking at making real changes, although it may all be hyperbole. I really like to hope it’s not. Like the Sierra Club denouncing its own founder for extremely racist beliefs.

I have no idea where these roads lead, but I hope towards something good and something that can see a benefit for all mankind and future generations not yet known. That is my hope. We shall see.
