Surviving Christmas

That’s the name of the movie with Ben Affleck and Christina Applegate that had me in stitches a few times. It was surprisingly good.

I’m on a quest to watch one Christmas movie every day until Christmas. We’ve watched our usuals: Elf & Santa Clause. I really like Christmas with the Krank’s but I think I’ll skip it this year and stick to movies I haven’t seen. I love the original 30 minute animated Grinch movie but the kids never want to watch it.

Here is our Christmas tree this year. Doesn’t touch the ceiling this time. It was either this one or a 12 feet tree. That’s all the farm had this year. $20 for a fresh cut 12′ tree is really great, but that isn’t my lifestyle.

Although I spose people with living spaces that can accommodate 12 foot trees aren’t hunting for bargains like I always am. Lol. It’s about 6 feet tall and a little sparse, but we had fun decorating it and it’s really brightened everyone’s mood.

Here is my Christmas list for the kids and a few gifts I’d love to get too. Which I doubt I’ll get but it’s nice to think of and I had fun picking them out.

I haven’t bought the kidlets a single gift yet. My dad insists I buy them all giant jawbreakers. He says the big 2″ candies were all he and his siblings got for Christmas and they all loved them. I told him I would, which seemed to make him very happy but I don’t see it holding the same appeal for them.

I’m actually planning on doing some in person holiday shopping this week along with my errands. And then I really have to get started on listing all these things on eBay for my clients.

My mood is even keeled today but I’m feeling very tired. I’m going to go in for an IV boost and B shot this coming week. It makes such a difference in my overall wellness and I was trying to avoid it during lockdown but I have so many things to do and feeling like I’m dragging myself around in a half zombie state isn’t productive. I can’t procrastinate working. I can’t not help with remote school.

On the plus side my liver has been recovering well, even though I never did end up doing the correct liver flush. But I notice it bothering me less and less. To my credit I haven’t drank alcohol in a while and I’ve been mindful of my diet. So that’s a huge plus because pain sucks.

And now we have to go. We can’t go to the nutcracker this year but a local ballet is doing an outdoor drive through installation and the little one and I are going to go check it out. I can’t imagine it being anything like the real thing but it’s as close to a live production as we are going to get this year locally.

Hope you’ve all found your Christmas spirit this year❣️

I have always enjoyed reading and writing. Maybe because I have always been on the quiet and reclusive side; which most people may not guess at first glance or if seeing me in a social setting, especially around people I am comfortable with but it’s also not something I have an issue with. I need solitude to recharge. Writing gives me the peace and time to renew that is offered to you for your enjoyment and pleasure as well. I hope. Lol

    1. Dragging all the stuff out and figuring out where to get the tree and cutting it down in the cold and then the hour it took to get it to stay upright because we cut it lopsided. It was all so much work and it wasn’t all that much fun until the tree was lit up and then it all felt worth it.

So……see what you saved yourself? I say go for it. Send me a picture.
