From my teenage journals
To when I was 18
And an internet cafe opened up across the street
And I would go and send emails to the very few friends that had an email address
It was so much fun
I would write poetry often
Just to write something
It was such a novel new time
It was nothing as it is now
It was so basic and unfocused
There was hardly much content on it
Nothing like now
But just to communicate via written word
It’s like the world opened up for me
And it felt expansive
And inclusive
Like I could be heard
And then all the things I have written over the years
To friends
Boyfriends
On blogs
Replies to editorials
Yahoo answers
Which then became Quora answers
Which I may expand to Reddit but I’ll have to start searching for the kind of content I want to talk about
The main page is so inundated with replies no one sees what I write.
I had a lot of fun on Medium too when it first started.
And the FetLife was pretty damn fun.
It’s nice to get a glimpse into someone else’s world. Even if only for the novelty, the differences, their take, their excitement and joy for things.
It satisfies a need to reach out into the world and feel someone else there
Even and maybe especially from the comfort of my own home. Lol
One day I will read over what I do have; what I can access.
That will be one wild ride. I know.
🤣😂🤣
