When I went to college I was in a class where everyone had to make a presentation of something they felt was vitally important that no one really talked much about. We are talking almost 30 years ago now, but what I felt was extremely important at the time and still very much do is stress.
People truly don’t seem to realize how much stress they live with on a daily basis. How it affects everything from health, to lifestyle choices, to how they interact in the world and their viewpoints. I have always tried to manage my stress, which I realize takes a bit of self awareness and thought. It’s not that it’s hard to be proactive, it’s that you have to actually take steps towards it.
Most people, me included, just want it to go away. But it doesn’t work that way. Right now I think is a great time to remind ourselves that it doesn’t take much effort to incorporate stress reducing elements into your life.
Here is a great article on some simple and effective stress strategies.

Something that has amazed me right now during this time is how generous some people have been in the face of uncertainty. For my part I have been donating food a few times a month to the local food bank. But I’ve seen some extraordinary kindness and generosity during this time and it really gives me tears of joy to see how wonderful people can be.
There is always a lot of news about the worst going on and that’s ok too. It’s good to be “informed” I suppose. But it’s so uplifting and inspiring to see good news.
I also think we easily forget when we are stressed out how great it makes us feel to help others. I’ve said it before but just as much as we want to be loved and understood, we also want to love and understand. Just as fulfilling as it is to receive, it is just as much so, if not more fulfilling, to give. And the ripple effect of giving from the heart, giving something someone truly needs, is something immeasurable and lasting. And never forget that sometimes something as simple as just showing you care can save someone’s life.
So here are some uplifting things I found. Enjoy!
Its not necessarily easy finding good news and things to feel good about. I tell that to my kids all the time. It’s easy to find things to complain about. They jump out at you constantly. It takes conscientious effort to find things to be grateful and happy about, but the rewards of that are well worth the effort. So stop being lazy. Lol
