Leggo my rifle

I know. I know. The mass murders are horrendous. The school shootings are an abomination. It is unmeasurable cruelty to take the innocent lives of strangers, let alone children. I mean….I can wrap my head around a killing of passion and/or revenge. Doesn’t excuse it necessarily but makes it understandable.

However, and as much as my left wing friends may besmirch this…..I don’t agree with gun bans. Sure. Certain people shouldn’t have guns: just like people that shouldn’t drive. There are those people who are not capable (physically or mentally) to handle that responsibility. That should be a no brainier.

So what? Do we take all cars of the roads for the few people that can’t be trusted to drive responsibly and humanely and yet still manage to find their way behind the wheel of a car? IMO, it should be perfectly allowed for a human being to own, possess, carry and use a gun for self defense and subsistence (when legally allowed).

The reason I am so adamant about this is because it just makes sense, plain and simple. I wish we lived in a world that did not need guns. I wish we lived in a world where civil wars, military oppression and violence in general didn’t exist…..but we don’t. So why should drug cartels, mafia, gangs, criminals, and the government all have easy access to guns? Why should law abiding citizens have to bear the brunt of this ban?

I’ve looked at the statistics up and down on this. Yes. While theoretically it would be nice to restrict assault rifles and high ammo guns, is it really possible? I’m not the kind of person that’s going to stockpile an armory worth of guns for doomsday but some people do. If they keep it secure and are responsible then who am I to say no to that?

Remember the Bundy Nevada stand-off? The feds backed off why? Because everyone there was armed to the hilt. Because it was going to end in a giant blood bath. Because it didn’t make sense to lose all those lives. That wasn’t exactly the most noble cause from how the media painted it, but I still had to applaud taking a stand and uniting against tyranny. Which I’m not 100% was the case here but not being at ground zero I err always on the side of the oppressed, even when it is a white man. Lol

Neil Degrassi came under a lot of fire recently for this tweet.

But if it’s statistically accurate then he is right. While a horrible, unspeakable tragedy I don’t think gun regulation is the way to go.

We have to create a world where guns used against our own kind aren’t necessary. A world where no one is left behind. A world where there are enough people aware and involved to stop these things before they even could be a thought. That world is a much better world to strive for than passing more and more laws that less and less people follow. No?

I have always enjoyed reading and writing. Maybe because I have always been on the quiet and reclusive side; which most people may not guess at first glance or if seeing me in a social setting, especially around people I am comfortable with but it’s also not something I have an issue with. I need solitude to recharge. Writing gives me the peace and time to renew myself...here that is offered to you for your enjoyment and pleasure as well. I hope. Lol

  1. We can not give up our guns. it will be the worst thing. I know a few people from here and there. and my friend from Scotland loves that they have no guns. My frond from Australia not so much. They have a higher crime rate then we do. The mast shoots are horrific and bullshit.,It is our so called people in charge our master that are doing them. They want our guns. Once they have our guns , money goes to straight plastic , we all have a chip in us, their plan is being finalized, oh and our children their sex slaves. it is all going on around us, in front of us. We can not give up our guns. I say when you turn 16 everyone has to g through extensive gun safety classes. at 18 you are allowed to carries. Everyone should be able to carry if they want to. And there should be no guns not aloud zones. Those are the stupidest things , that is a total set up for a mast shooting. very few if any are going to walk in a school and start shooting when they know there will be 7 or 8 guns point back at them. Robbing some one at gun point or just robbing them how many people will be dumb enough to do it? When anyone within 10 feet may and is scarring. Fuck the crime rate would go down dramatically. Shit start gun safe in kindergarten. To respect the gun. to not play with it. it is not a toy. the next year to respect it and now you can hold it properly. the next unload it. load it . is there going to be fatality yes but as many no.
Just think about this for a minute put aside all the propaganda that has been feed to us about guns. I am not a fan of guns i am scared of them and a lot of hat is cause i lack the knowledge of how to hold, unload, load, check chamber, ext..
a fun fact for the day… The United States is less than 10% of the wold population and yet we have 45% of the guns in the world. My friend and i were talking about guns and hes from Scotland and was saying how our fatality and crime was the highest which iti is not but it is high. Australasia beat us for crime rate and they dont have guns….some one else did the UK was up there also. Jamaica was really high.. anyhow in my quest to prove him wrong i did the research…

    1. I’ve done the research too. You’re right; it doesn’t correlate.

I agree. I don’t like guns either because I have never been taught to use them properly either, not can I trust the person holding it has.

But if you said, EVERYONE, was taught correct safety and use then that would not be an issue and I agree crime, rape, robbery, abuse would go dramatically down.

Which is a strange stance for me because I am a firm and staunch pacifist. But as a military acquaintance once told me. If you need to ever take out your gun to use it, it’s because you are shooting to kill. You are not taking it out for show. You aren’t taking it out for any other reason then absolute need to defend your life. Which seemed a great way to look at it and I could get on board with that.

This isn’t the wild west but also we live in a world where you just don’t know who to trust anymore and this would put people in a more even stance and ensure the government, ANY government would think twice about sending the military in against it’s own people. I think also it would bring more logic to civil wars. Like hey “if everyone is armed, all we are really doing is killing each other off.”. Anyone ever think that’s what is wanted here? Not to sound morbid and macabre but sometimes I question who ultimately benefits from this issue and the answers j come up with leave me a bit horrified. Tell you the truth.

So that’s my rant. I think it’s a convoluted way to look at how to achieve peace, but at this point in the game, with the world so fucked up, I don’t see too many options.

I could be all polyana about it “give up your guns” but we all know not everyone will do that and we will be worse off overall for it, because only the law abiding would probably oblige.

I don’t think I’ll live to see a time we are all chipped and if it ever came down to child sexual slavery I’d rather go down shooting than give up my children. That seems way too extreme though. I really don’t follow that angle. I know it seems the world is losing complete control but we have to have hope and vision for better not worse.

We could sit here and think of ALL the worst case scenarios. I don’t see the point. It’s upsetting and it won’t bring us any closer to knowing what will really happen. The future is malleable and unpredictable and that makes it both scary and exciting.

I like to think positive. As much as absolutely possible. I’m just not wanting to give up the gun I don’t yet have. Lol

    2. OMG……

      Today’s headline……

A waiter in France was shot to death Friday night after a customer was allegedly enraged by having to wait too long for his sandwich.

Can we figure out a way to take away everyone’s guns and all nuclear power and artillery? No!! We can’t. Especially not when you can not very complicatedly make a gun at home and 3D print them even.

People are idiots. We lack basic compassion. Basic!!! The more stress, the more depressed, the more angry we get as a whole the worse we get at empathizing and talking ourselves down from our idiotic stances. Selfish. Selfish. Selfish. We don’t have to be, but we mostly are.

    3. Of course…..upon further thinking about the inviting France sometimes things aren’t always as simple as they seem. Who knows the whole story. Really. Not like the media always does. Lol
