is a full time job for me. Some people seem to do it so much more effortlessly. It takes great initiative for me and I’m not always consistent. Sometimes I eat crappy, I don’t take care of my stress levels, I drink alcohol, etc. etc. I was suppose to start my exercise routine today but the teenager took the car to go find the elusive “perfect bathing suit” she has been searching for to mark this summer.
But that will absolutely not stop me. If you let excuses stop you you’ll never accomplish anything. So I’m going to do a yoga DVD here at some point. P90X yoga to be precise. It is absolutely going to kick my ass, but it will be a good gauge for my new exercise routine. Like a progress report for myself. A baseline.
This is where I am starting. Which will determine my actual progress. I don’t just go by the scale when it comes to health. It’s about how well my body functions more than anything. Does it do what I want and need it to do? How efficiently? With what difficulties?
I started today with my breakfast of champions.
A tablespoon of castor oil chased by a swig of coffee and a spirulina and aloe vera juice infused smoothie that tastes like “green” powder with a mild aftertaste of sweetness from the fruit.*
It’s a bit of a purge. I do this a few times a month just to push stuff from the top down. This forces motility. So unlike colonics and enemas it purges the entire digestive tract….to some degree. I love castor oil. Our bodies love castor oil. It is a true adaptogen and the body utilizes it very efficiently and in many different ways, always to great benefit.
Orally shouldn’t be used too often or too much though as the body does need time to process nutrients. But people with digestive issues (and everyone really) can benefit greatly from using it. This is definitely one of those wonderful grandma remedies.
It’s overcast and hot out already. Reminds me of Florida a bit, feels muggy in the house.
I have to get the portable a/c cleaned and set up today. Good times!
*You can see how well the girls cleaned the kitchen by how dirty my counters are. It bothers me so much but if I kept my house up to my “standards” I’d have to spend hours cleaning it each day and I do not have that kind of time or energy.
