Unapologetic

That’s my word of the day. So often I see people that go around feeling like just existing needs an apology. Sorry is every other word out of their mouth. This isn’t to say we can’t all use some self-awareness, compassion and self-improvement. But we need to extend that love to ourselves first….and then make adjustments accordingly, if wanted and necessary.

My youngest has this new thing where she says she is fat. She has a tiny pooch of a tummy and cute big cheeks. She suffers from constipation and has added baby fat still left. All I tell her is “you are perfect just the way you are”. She, of course, doesn’t believe me. At 6 she already believes she has a physical standard to achieve that needs to be met. It absolutely enrages me. It makes me want to take her iPad away, but she would see that as punishment.

I wish I could impart to her the wisdom of being unapologetic. God created you. Maybe you could be a better version of this master plan but currently you are here, so effectively it’s who you were meant to be. Like this. Here. Presently! So own it, enjoy it and let’s move on.

Now let’s be real here.

Yes……

I like everyone else walking this planet hates assholes. Selfish, idiots that populate the earth with this “me, mine only” mentality. But even then when it’s done transparently, when they own it, when it’s all out in the open at least I can respect that they are owning their shit and being honest about it.

Eventually everyone pays their dues. Funny how while Karma does exist in this life some are left to be collected from at the very end. And it’s hard to understand the full consequences of that when it’s something you don’t see, fully comprehend or even believe. This is why all I can do is laugh and wish people that blatantly rob, hurt, spew venom into the world that they figure it out and rectify before their end comes.

I guess that’s the only benefit to having seen hell. It’s something you truly don’t wish on anyone, but secretly over the years I’m more and more glad is there. I’m thinking maybe because it takes any thoughts of needing to pass judgement and police the world out of my hands. But then again maybe this speaks more to the corruption of my own heart than theirs.

Oh well…I don’t care. I’m learning and trying and doing the best I can here.

I will remain unapologetic.

🙂🙏🏽🌈💖🥰🤪

I have always enjoyed reading and writing. Maybe because I have always been on the quiet and reclusive side; which most people may not guess at first glance or if seeing me in a social setting, especially around people I am comfortable with but it’s also not something I have an issue with. I need solitude to recharge. Writing gives me the peace and time to renew myself...here that is offered to you for your enjoyment and pleasure as well. I hope. Lol

  1. Your daughter is not the only one to say those words. My 10 year old son had at one point told me he had to diet. I told him he was ridiculous. Not my finest moment. But I could not understand how my son who is still growing could feel that. I ended up having to actually make a doctor’s appointment so he would realize that he is healthy and perfectly ‘normal’ as in how normal I define normality. As an odd duck out myself (lol) I understand the difficulty of living and approving of oneself. Hugs to your daughter and let her know that there is no normal there is who we are. Our kindness and how we deal with others that is what creates beauty. Sorry babbling.

    1. Not babbling silly. All good words. You’re absolutely right. There is no normal and that is indeed what creates beauty. Thanks for sharing. Is he still feeling that way or did that help? My ex broke out her growth chart info and the stats for her last night. So we’ll see. Lol. Self esteem is tricky at any age, but 6? Ugghhhh. Not cool. Not cool society.

      1. He know longer thinks he is fat. His last Dr appt he was 5’1\4″ tall at 125lb. He is healthy. He most likely will hit his growth spurt in the next few years. I do need to put more fruits and veggies in front of him.

      2. I know right. That’s good. Boys have insecurities too around looks and weight. It isn’t something we talk about too much but it is real.

Mine love fruit but you’d think I was trying to poison them when I give them vegetables. The teenager likes them. At least I got through to one so far.

      3. Yeah. Healthy choices are good. I keep stuff for smoothies in the freezer always and frozen go-gurts, but they have their fair share of junk. I try for healthier versions. Stuff without artificial colors, perservatives, ingredients I can’t pronounce or have a clue what they do. There are healthy versions of almost all the snacks they like. It’s to where they know what’s bad sometimes and won’t eat it. Or they will eat it and know it’s a treat to have regular MSG laden Doritos or whatever. Lol

      4. Yes I need to work hard on that. He is a tween who loves video games. This summer will be better with time at beach and swimming. And he loves badminton so will get net and rackets and keep him busy lol

      5. Those video games can turn into a job. They have real world applications now. But yeah. Sun and air and technology breaks are a good thing. We have no device days around here. Not as often as if like but one is coming up Saturday. We all enjoy them even though they are hard. Even I have a hard time with it. Lol

      6. Lol. The dream job. My daughter is obsessed with them. The vloggers that play video games. I don’t get it at all. I thought playing them was a waste of time but watching people play them. It’s beyond me. But then again…..I like watching people have sex….so really. Lol

      8. Way back in 2008, an Urban Dictionary user said the yeet meaning is simply a way to express excitement: “Especially used in basketball when someone has shot a three-pointer that they are sure will go in the hoop,” Or, used in a colorful yet less wholesome context: “as one ejaculates.”Sep 13, 2018
