Coffee Enemas – Part 1.5

I’m going to pause a moment to discuss digestion 101. For some of you this information may seem common knowledge but I am always amazed at how much it isn’t. Let’s begin.

We are animals. I know shocking. πŸ˜‹ Theoretically we should have a bowel movement after every large meal. Eating starts peristalsis which triggers your whole digestion to begin working. So inserting food on one side of the tube starts the mechanism that makes the food move through the entire system.

In other words it should make you poop. This is why 20-30 minutes after animals and babies eat they poo. It’s how it’s suppose to work. But we get so busy and preoccupied and disconnected from our bodies that we lose this mechanism. So, if you’re at once a day (feeling complete) you’re doing great. Mornings are most people’s go-to because again…that’s how our mechanism is suppose to go.

Now everyone is different of course but more or less if you eat three large meals and have 3 movements you are golden, but this is rare*. Hopefully your movements are also the right color and consistency. This is complex but it is also the easiest way to see how your body is working. Here is a visual aid.

Type 3 and 4 are standard. Type 1 and 7 are the extremes and when sick, traveling, taking medications, stressed, etc. these may show up. But your average stool should be medium brown in color and not have oddities in it. I mean yes, if you’ve eaten corn, nuts, seedy fruit, kale or other very fibrous foods expect to see them but if you’re seeing other foods that means you aren’t chewing well enough and your putting extra strain on your system.

Your mouth is the only part of the system that chops the food into a non-solid state. The acids in your stomach are there to start breaking it down to a molecular level, but it isn’t set up to masticate it…only your teeth do that.

So chew, chew, chew. This is good for you on many levels. It helps your digestion. It helps signal your body as to when you are full, helping you eat only what is necessary. It helps you be more mindful of what your putting in your body and helps with that whole mind/body connection I keep talking about. It helps extract more nutrients from your food. On and on. Ok. So.

Different color stool is not uncommon. My daughter once had bright neon green poop from a blue slurpee. But on the whole if your stool is not brown this should be addressed. Excessively dark stool could mean blood in your digestive tract. Excessively light colored stool could mean several things including plugged bile ducts, as the bile (greenish/yellow – like the vomit color when your stomach is empty) is what colors your stool.

Personally I feel crappy physically, mentally AND emotionally if I don’t poo once a day. Which is why I opted for enemas instead of laxatives and softeners after the hemerroidectomy disaster took me from once a day to twice a week. I may have to use them the rest of my life. But I would rather assist rectally than introduce substances orally that can affect other parts of my digestion. It’s a personal choice and I’m ok with it for now.

But again….. I do not recommend daily enema use…says the hypocrite. πŸ˜‚

Now if you routinely see clearish slime (parasites?), fat globules, cloudy whitish-yellow matter (candida?), do not ignore this. Your body is ALWAYS telling you something. Please listen and take care of yourselves. You get one body. ONE! Take good care of it . Please.

*There is a way to condition your digestion to go back to this natural rhythm. It takes about 2 weeks of consistency to do this. You go and sit on the pot for (only) 5 minutes about 30 minutes after each large meal. So about 3 times a day you go and sit and relax and ask the body to release. Don’t strain. Don’t stress. The body will see that you are giving it time and space and it will respond. I highly recommend this to people as the better your digestion works the better all other systems work. Because your lymphs, liver, etc. all deliver toxins into your colon. So the better that works the overall better everything else works and the faster you get toxins out and do not reabsorb them.

I have always enjoyed reading and writing. Maybe because I have always been on the quiet and reclusive side; which most people may not guess at first glance or if seeing me in a social setting, especially around people I am comfortable with but it’s also not something I have an issue with. I need solitude to recharge. Writing gives me the peace and time to renew that is offered to you for your enjoyment and pleasure as well. I hope. Lol
