I have no issue with this.*
Is it truly “reprehensible”?
But only the part where she was under 18
and he was by all accounts her guardian and there is an inherent (barrier and) trust that should not be broken there
he wasn’t a biological parent
So science plays no factor
That people may not like it
But when I sit and think about it deeply that is the only truly ethical issue I have with the whole thing.
I do think it normalizes something that maybe shouldn’t be normalized….but that incest and pedophilia exist and will possibly always exist isn’t something debatable or that we should just ignore for lack of liking it. Is it?
From how I see it….
After 18 go for it
Granted most people don’t start making rational decisions until at least a decade later…. if you’re lucky. Lol. But then again I’ve met some pretty cool young adults with a far better head on their shoulders than I.
16 and over is good with people about the same age to be having sex……that is after all most state laws; isn’t it?
The problem I see is that sometimes some things feels good because you told yourself it feels good, because you maybe needed to feel like you had some control over it and over your life…. but truly ask yourself now. Does it feel good? Does it really feel good? Deep down inside? And if you’re over 18 and the answer is yes or hell yes then go for it. Barring some logical illegality and/or subtle or not so subtle coercion that is.
But then I don’t think I see things the way the majority of people do.
*I’m not saying I personally like, agree or condone this behavior.
