No Cake for You

No one just swoops in to have cake. You have to put in the hard work, but it does taste so much better when you do. At least….I think so.

Maybe in other people’s worlds the cake is free, no strings attached. Awesome!! Go there then.

“Not About You” – Haiku Hands

I have always enjoyed reading and writing. Maybe because I have always been on the quiet and reclusive side; which most people may not guess at first glance or if seeing me in a social setting, especially around people I am comfortable with but it’s also not something I have an issue with. I need solitude to recharge. Writing gives me the peace and time to renew that is offered to you for your enjoyment and pleasure as well. I hope. Lol

  1. Cake is always worth the effort to prepare prior to eating. the preparation is perhaps more fun than the eating: the purchasing of materials, reading the instructions, getting out the equipment, making sure it is in working order ( a flour sifter has to work properly, right?), following the written directions one step at a time, tasting the batter before pouring it into the pan and then the anticipation…watching it boil, rise and start to smell heavenly, worrying that a slight mistake can make the cake fall and then be ruined. Then, when all seems to have gone right, it’s pulled from the oven, near perfection, but it is still fragile, subject to falling if improperly handled. You must wait for it to cool just enough before spreading a sweet confectionary on it, taking more time to decorate and accessorize the delectable treat now taking shape before you. It’s almost sacrilege to apply a thin cold metal blade to its surface, applying pressure and slicing down through the moist flesh, cutting it from the whole, and then taking that first bite, the one that sends shivers down your spine, tickling you in places that lay dormant. then, and only then is the waiting, the preparation and the anticipation worthy of the satisfaction that is obtained by slowly and carefully devouring cake.

Thank you for allowing me to recall my memories of eating cake and mentally drawing the parallels to seducing a lover. It was a delectable delight, if only in my mind.

    1. Oh wow!

      That was hot as fuck!!!

May I copy and paste for future reference when baking a cake. I wouldn’t ask but since this is part lyrical beauty and part instructions it’s a fine line. Lol
